Are you a Facade Consultant, looking for an exciting new challenge in IndiaBuro Happold is looking for a Senior Engineer to deliver high-quality facade engineering solutions across design and construction stages, ensuring technical excellence, coordination and compliance with applicable codes and standards.
Responsibilities
- Deliver facade design engineering, technical detailing and documentation addressing project specific challenges.
- Work closely with the Team Leader/Project Leader on technical decision making.
- Support project teams during implementation through inspections, quality reviews, and reporting.
- Independently complete defined work packages with limited supervision.
- Take ownership of the quality and accuracy of assigned deliverables.
- Prepare project reports and documentation using standard BH templates.
- Liaise with architects and multidisciplinary consultants to ensure coordinated design solutions.
- Prepare facade engineering documentation using CAD and analysis tools.
- Guide and support the drafting teams to ensure accurate and timely outputs.
Qualifications
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture or related discipline.
- Chartered Engineering/Professional Engineer or working towards certification preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of facade design and detailing experience.
- Strong knowledge of facade systems and their materials.
- The role requires knowledge of the following key facade engineering code frameworks: EURO/British Codes, American Codes.
- Advanced in AutoCAD (2D/3D), experience working with SketchUp, Revit, Rhino and 3D workflows.
- Proficient understanding of weather performance, standards and acceptance criteria.
- Knowledge of building physics - ventilation, thermal insulation, solar gain, glare control.
- Basic knowledge in facade structural design.
- Awareness of sustainability and whole-life design considerations.
- Experience working with multiple design disciplines.
- Good to have: experience with fabrication and handling processes of facade materials; international project experience; familiarity with architectural component detailing and client vision management.
