F22 LABS - Lead Software Engineer - Backend Development

As a Lead Software Engineer Backend, you'll build and scale the backend systems that power platform. You'll solve complex engineering challenges, own critical services end-to-end, and help build highly scalable, reliable, and observable distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and enhance scalable backend services and distributed systems.
• Own backend features from design through production and ongoing improvements.
• Build reliable APIs and services that power mission-critical product workflows.
• Improve system performance, scalability, availability, and reliability.
• Design solutions around databases, caching, messaging, and asynchronous processing.
• Drive observability by improving logging, monitoring, tracing, and debugging capabilities.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to deliver customer-focused features.
• Review code, troubleshoot production issues, and contribute to engineering best practices.
• Mentor engineers through technical guidance and code reviews while remaining a hands-on individual contributor.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity and code quality.

You Should Apply If

• You have 6+ years of backend engineering experience.
• You've built and operated scalable backend services in production.
• You have strong programming fundamentals in any modern backend language (Java, Go, Python, Node.js, C#, etc.).
• You have experience designing scalable APIs and distributed systems.
• You have hands-on experience with SQL/NoSQL databases, Redis, and message brokers such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• You have worked with Docker and containerized applications.
• You have experience with observability tools such as Grafana, Datadog, OpenTelemetry, or similar.
• You enjoy solving performance, scalability, and reliability challenges.
• You've worked in a product-based SaaS environment.

Nice To Have

• Experience with AWS and cloud-native architectures.
• Kubernetes experience.
• GraphQL experience.
• Experience building platform or observability products.
• Exposure to high-scale distributed systems.
