Exterior Trim Design Engineer (CATIA)

The Exterior Trim Design Engineer (5-10 Yrs exp) is responsible for the design and development of automotive exterior trim components using CATIA V5/V6. The role involves creating robust and manufacturable designs while meeting styling, quality, cost, performance, and vehicle integration requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop automotive exterior trim parts using CATIA V5/V6.
• Create 3D models, assemblies, and 2D drawings for:
• Front and Rear Bumpers
• Grilles
• Wheel Arch Claddings
• Roof Rails
• Rocker Panels
• Spoilers
• Moldings
• Garnish Parts
• Pillar and Door Exterior Trims
• Perform feasibility studies and packaging analysis.
• Develop Class A, Class B, and Class C surface-based plastic part designs.
• Prepare and review engineering drawings with GD&T requirements.
• Conduct tolerance stack-up and assembly analysis.
• Ensure compliance with OEM design standards and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with CAE, Manufacturing, Tooling, Supplier, and Quality teams.
• Participate in design reviews, DFMEA, and design validation activities.
• Support prototype builds and vehicle launch activities.
• Resolve design and manufacturing issues during development and production.
