Executive / Senior Executive - Downstream Process Laboratory

Summary Job Function

The candidate will be responsible for development, optimisation, scale-up, and execution of purification processes for viral vectors and plasmid DNA used in Cell & Gene Therapy applications.

The candidate should be able to:

• Execute and optimise downstream purification processes for viral vectors and plasmid DNA.
• Design, execute, and troubleshoot purification experiments.
• Analyse scientific data and prepare technical reports and presentations.
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with quality and safety requirements.
• Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary R&D environment.

Must-Have Skills

Downstream Processing, Chromatography, TFF, AKTA Systems, Viral Vector Purification, Plasmid DNA Purification, Process Development, Process Scale-up, Technical Documentation.

Education & Experience

• MSc/M.Tech in Biotechnology or Life Sciences.
• 2-5 years of relevant industrial experience in downstream process development.

Knowledge Requirements

• Strong understanding of chromatography, filtration, buffer preparation, and downstream purification principles.
• Hands-on experience with AKTA systems and TFF (cassette and / or hollow fibre formats).
• Experience in purification of viral vectors (AAV / Lentivirus) and / or plasmid DNA.
• Experience in process development, optimisation, scale-up, and technology transfer activities.
• Proficiency in scientific data analysis, interpretation, troubleshooting, and reporting.
• Experience in preparation of technical documents, protocols, SOPs, EOPs, and batch records.
• Familiarity with laboratory qualification activities and compliance with applicable quality systems, GLP / GMP principles.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in laboratory setup and equipment qualification.
• Exposure to analytical techniques used for characterisation of viral vectors and plasmids.
