Role & responsibilities

• Work as a Shift Safety Officer and provide shift relief support.
• Ensure effective implementation and compliance of the Permit-to-Work (PTW) system through field verification and audits.
• Conduct regular safety inspections, area monitoring, and safety patrols to identify unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and hazards.
• Inspect, test, and maintain readiness of fire protection and emergency response equipment such as fire extinguishers, hydrants, hose reels, gas detectors, SCBA sets, airline respirators, safety showers, MCPs, and emergency sirens.
• Maintain inspection records, safety checklists, test reports, and documentation related to fire and safety systems.
• Conduct safety induction programs, Toolbox Talks (TBTs), and safety awareness sessions for employees and contract workmen.
• Monitor PPE compliance and ensure availability and proper use of required PPE.
• Maintain PPE inventory and issuance records.
• Train employees, contractors, and Emergency Response Team (ERT) members on firefighting, emergency response, rescue techniques, and fire prevention.
• Organize and participate in mock drills, evacuation exercises, and emergency preparedness activities.
• Attend incidents, near misses, and first-aid cases; support investigations and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
• Coordinate and supervise fire crew activities and emergency response readiness.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly EHS reports and maintain compliance records.
• Support statutory compliance, audits, safety initiatives, and continuous improvement programs.
