About this role
- Support the migration of Azure DevOps projects to the GitHub and GitHub Actions ecosystem in line with the wider GRS pipeline migration programme.
- Work with the Engineering & Cloud Services DevOps team to plan, coordinate, and execute migration activities across LII Technology.
- Create and configure organisations, artifacts, and permissions in CloudForge as the metadata platform used to manage projects, code, and deployments.
- Migrate Git repositories from Azure Repos to GitHub, ensuring repository structure, access, and permissions are configured appropriately.
- Convert Azure DevOps GUI/classic pipelines into pipelines-as-code where required.
- Support the migration of Azure DevOps YAML pipelines to GitHub Actions workflows.
- Use in-house AI tooling to assist with the conversion of Azure DevOps pipelines to GitHub Actions.
- Troubleshoot and manually convert pipelines where automated tooling does not fully complete the migration.
- Test migrated pipelines in GitHub Actions to confirm they operate as expected and meet required functional outcomes.
- Provide practical hands-on support and guidance to application teams as they migrate their own projects.
- Liaise with application teams, technical leads, the US-based Azure DevOps Migration team, the Azure Platform Team, and the GRS pipeline migration team.
- Raise support tickets in Jira with the Cloud Platform team where additional platform support is required.
- Raise Change Requests in ServiceNow for production migration activity and present changes at CAB where required.
- Maintain clear communication with stakeholders on migration progress, issues, dependencies, and risks.
- Support adoption of standardised tooling, security, and compliance practices as part of the wider move from Azure DevOps to GitHub and GitHub Actions.
- Contribute to migration guidance, lessons learned, and repeatable approaches that can be reused by other LII Technology teams
