Event and Marketing Executive

About the Role

This role brings sponsorship and advertiser revenue into Arthamandapam's knowledge events meeting brands, agencies and business owners face-to-face, building the sponsorship case, negotiating and closing. Judged on revenue closed, not meetings held.

Key Responsibilities

• Build a pipeline of prospective sponsors and advertisers relevant to each event's audience.
• Secure and conduct in-person meetings with decision makers brand owners, marketing heads, agency planners.
• Build customised sponsorship proposals: title, associate, category and on-ground branding packages with pricing.
• Negotiate commercial terms and close sponsorship deals within target timelines.
• Coordinate with creative and event operations teams to ensure sponsor deliverables are executed as committed.
• Deliver post-event reports to sponsors and drive renewals for subsequent editions.
• Maintain a live pipeline report with stage, value and expected closure date.

Required Technical Skills & Mandatory Experience

• 5+ years in event marketing, sponsorship sales, advertising sales or media sales.
• An existing, active client base in Chennai / Tamil Nadu, approachable from day one.
• Demonstrated record of independently closing media/sponsorship deals must be able to name deals closed and approximate values.
• Strong face-to-face presentation and negotiation ability in Tamil and English.
• Willingness to travel across Chennai and Tamil Nadu for client meetings.

Preferred / Good to Have

• Background with a print, TV, radio, digital media house or event management company.
• Existing relationships in Tamil-language media and with regional brands.
• Experience with cultural, literary or knowledge-format events.
