Equity Research Analyst

Role Overview

The Research Analyst at Nexus Equity Growth Fund plays a critical role in driving our investment strategies. You will be responsible for conducting in-depth equity market analysis, evaluating financial statements, and providing actionable insights to the portfolio management team. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and capable of navigating both fundamental equity research and operational tracking to support the fund's growth mandate.

Key Responsibilities

• Equity Market Analysis & Stock Screening: Conduct rigorous fundamental research, analyze market metrics, and identify high-potential investment opportunities.
• Financial Modeling & Reporting: Build, update, and maintain detailed financial models and forecasts. Prepare comprehensive research reports and present clear buy/hold/sell recommendations to the investment committee.
• Portfolio Management Support: Track overall fund performance and monitor daily stock transactions. Regularly reconcile trial balances with current holding statements to ensure accurate portfolio tracking.
• Derivatives & Strategic Trading: Monitor active derivative trading strategies and manage exact contract quantities for futures positions. Track critical market events to optimize fund positioning, such as standard stock market index rebalancing on the third Friday of March.
• Institutional Operations: Act as a technical and contract point of contact for the fund. Support institutional onboarding processes, ensure accurate entity documentation, and coordinate with external platforms and administrators.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Education: Bachelors or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Analytical Skills: Strong quantitative abilities with a deep understanding of financial markets, investment strategies, and corporate finance principles.
• Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, financial modeling techniques, and experience with investment research platforms.
• Attention to Detail: High precision in tracking transactions, managing contract parameters, and analyzing financial statements.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the proven ability to distill complex financial data into strategic insights for stakeholders.
