Equity Dealer

Role Overview:

We are looking for a sharp, disciplined, and detail-oriented Equity Dealer to execute equity trades in line with the investment strategies of our Portfolio Management Services (PMS). This role involves closely monitoring market trends, managing trading risks, and ensuring strict

regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate should have strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of equity markets, and the ability to perform in a fast-paced trading environment. Working knowledge of Wealth spectrum is a must.

Role & responsibilities

• Trade Execution: Execute buy and sell orders for equities across client portfolios in line with PMS model portfolios and fund manager instructions, ensuring timely and accurate execution with minimal impact cost.
• Market Analysis: Monitor and analyze global and domestic equity markets, news flow, and trends to provide actionable inputs to portfolio managers and the investment team.
• Risk Management: Manage and mitigate trading risks by adhering to defined exposure, order size, and price limits, and following best practices in execution strategy.
• Order Management: Maintain and update order books on Wealth spectrum and the trading platform, monitor order execution, and promptly report discrepancies, rejections, or execution challenges.
• Compliance: Ensure all trading activities comply with SEBI (Portfolio Managers) Regulations, exchange rules, and internal policies, including allocation fairness and pre-trade checks. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant market regulations.
• Relationship Management: Maintain strong working relationships with brokers, exchanges, custodians, and other market participants to ensure smooth and efficient trading operations.
• Reporting & Documentation: Prepare daily trade reports and reconciliation statements and provide detailed analysis of trades and market conditions for internal stakeholders.
• Cross-Functional Coordination: Work closely with portfolio managers, research analysts, and the operations team to align trading activity with overall investment goals and ensure seamless trade settlement.
• Technology Utilization: Use Wealth spectrum, OMS, and trading terminals effectively to ensure efficient order execution, allocation, and portfolio management.
• Continuous Learning: Stay updated on market developments, trading strategies, and regulatory changes to enhance execution quality and decision-making.

Preferred candidate profile

• 3 to 6 years of experience as an equity dealer or in trade execution, preferably within a PMS, AIF, AMC, or institutional broking setup.
• Hands-on working knowledge of Wealth spectrum is mandatory.
• NISM Series VIII (Equity Derivatives) certification preferred; NISM Series VII (Securities Operations and Risk Management) is an added advantage.
• Strong understanding of Indian equity markets, market microstructure, order types, and the trade settlement cycle.
• Familiarity with trading terminals and OMS platforms (e.g., ODIN, NEST, Omnesys) and Bloomberg or Reuters is a plus.
• Sound knowledge of SEBI regulations applicable to PMS and exchange trading.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to make quick, informed decisions and remain composed under pressure, particularly during periods of high market volatility.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills, with a high level of ownership and accountability.
