Epub Developer

Role & responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced ePub Developer to handle eBook conversion and formatting tasks. The candidate will convert raw documents into high-quality digital formats and ensure they display correctly across all major e-readers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Convert source files (Word, PDF) into ePub 2 & ePub 3 formats.
• Create clean layout structures using HTML5 and CSS3.
• Develop both Reflowable and fixed-layout eBooks.
• Run validation checks using ePub Check and fix any coding or rendering errors.
• Verify final output display on devices like Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, and tablets.

Required Skills:

• Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, XML, and XHTML.
• Experience with tools like Epsilon, or Oxygen XML Editor.
• Good attention to detail and ability to hit project deadlines

Preferred candidate profile

• Experience: 2-3 years in ePub/eBook production with proven project delivery.
• Technical Expertise: Strong command of HTML, CSS, XML, XHTML and familiarity with ePub 2 & 3 standards.
• Tool Knowledge: Hands-on experience with Epsilon or Oxygen XML Editor.
• Quality Focus: Detail-oriented, with the ability to identify and fix formatting, coding, and rendering issues.
• Adaptability: Comfortable working on both Reflowable and Fixed-layout eBooks.
