The Role:

- In line with ongoing and upcoming infrastructure, climate resilience, and sustainable development initiatives, expressions of interest (EOI) are invited for an Environmental Safeguards Specialist position based in Hyderabad, Pakistan.

- The role requires a senior environmental professional to provide technical leadership in environmental safeguards, sustainability, assessments, compliance, biodiversity, and climate resilience, ensuring high-quality delivery in line with international standards and industry best practices.

- The successful candidate will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to integrate environmental considerations across planning, design, procurement, implementation, and monitoring.

Suitable Applicants Will Have/be:

- Masters degree in environmental science, Environmental Engineering, Ecology, Natural Resources Management, Sustainability, or a related discipline from a recognized institution.

- Minimum 20 years of relevant environmental experience, including at least 12 years on major infrastructure, environmental management, or sustainable development projects.

- Experience preparing and reviewing environmental assessments, management plans, compliance frameworks, and risk mitigation measures.

- Experience in environmental due diligence, biodiversity and ecosystem assessments - including wetlands, mangroves, and coastal habitats and stakeholder consultation.

- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, international standards, sustainability frameworks, and best practices.

- Experience in integrating environmental and sustainability requirements across infrastructure planning, design, procurement, and implementation.

- Experience in environmental monitoring, mitigation, climate adaptation, ecosystem management, and reporting.

- Experience on projects funded by international development agencies, donors, or multilateral financial institutions is highly desirable.

- Proven ability to coordinate with clients, contractors, government agencies, communities, and multidisciplinary teams.

- Strong analytical, communication, report-writing, and stakeholder engagement skills.
