Engineering & Technology Leader - Retail Technology

About the Opportunity:

Our client is looking to hire a senior Engineering & Technology Leader to build and lead the technology organisation for a rapidly evolving retail business.

The role will be responsible for strengthening the company's technology architecture and engineering capabilities across customer experience, CRM, retail stores, e-commerce, enterprise systems, data and infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in retail technology, with a demonstrated track record of building CRM/customer technology platforms and leading large-scale engineering teams and technology transformation.

This is a hands-on strategic technology leadership role for someone who understands both retail business processes and modern technology architecture.

What You Will Own:

- Define and execute the overall technology and engineering roadmap aligned with business and retail priorities.

- Build, scale and lead the engineering organisation across multiple technology functions.

- Build/scale CRM and customer technology platforms covering customer acquisition, engagement, loyalty, retention and personalised experiences.

- Develop technology capabilities connecting offline stores, e-commerce and customer journeys.

Lead architecture and implementation of key retail technology systems including:

1. CRM & Loyalty

2. POS / Store Technology

3. E-commerce platforms

4. OMS / Order Management

5. ERP / Enterprise Applications

6. Inventory & Warehouse Technology

7. Supply Chain Technology

8. Customer Data / Analytics platforms

9. Marketing Technology

10. Payment & integration platforms

- Drive omnichannel technology initiatives to create a seamless customer experience across physical stores and digital channels.

- Build robust APIs, integrations and technology infrastructure connecting multiple retail systems.

- Own cloud infrastructure, DevOps, reliability, scalability, cybersecurity and technology governance.

- Establish strong engineering practices around architecture, development, testing, deployment and system reliability.

- Use technology and data to improve customer lifetime value, retention, personalisation and retail productivity.

- Partner closely with business, product, marketing, operations, supply chain and finance leadership.

- Evaluate and manage technology vendors, platforms and strategic technology partners.

- Drive technology modernisation, automation and reduction of legacy dependencies.

- Build a high-performing engineering culture with strong technical leadership and execution discipline.

Key Requirement - CRM & Customer Technology:

- A strong track record of building CRM technology in a retail / consumer environment is critical.
