Engineering Mechanical Engineer

Main responsibilities

• Technical missions
  • In relation with Laboratory in France, analyse job request and define analysis protocol
  • Select appropriate equipment and laboratory to perform analysis
  • Achieve/Manage Sample preparation: cutting, resin, polishing : down to 3 m diamond, and colloidal silica solution
  • Metallization, plasma deposition: Gold, Palladium, Carbon .
  • Reveal microstructure: Chemical delineation (Adler attack solution)
  • Pilot macroscopic inspection with the selected laboratory: Binocular analysis, Optical microscopy analysis, Scanning electron microscopy, Electron Dispersive Spectroscopy elemental chemical analysis.
• Analyse results of macroscopic and microscopic inspection: analyse quality of the images, react with laboratory if parameters are not corrects, to comment images and give orientation
• Identify additional analysis necessary for deeper investigation when necessary: surface analysis 3D XRAY, CSAM, etc ..
• Provide metrics about activities
• In future interpret analysis results: figure out problems, propose failure mechanism scheme, etc .
• Propose solutions to improve efficiency and reduce issues
• Define best practices and design rules, coming from analysis in order to improve efficiency and reduce the issues.

General missions

• Should have knowledge on executing tasks in project management mode
• Drive and monitor the Material Analysis activities
• Provide analysis reports in accordance with existing templates
• Support project teams for all Division team
• Involved in the domain meetings via technical presentations.
• Involved in the technology watch, the research and the deployment of innovative analysis and in order to maintain the excellence in the domain
• Build credibility to the project teams for all Valeo Business Group team.
