Engineering Manager

🔍 Your Experience at a Glance This role provides a great opportunity to own and build highly scalable and fault-tolerant platform services and database connectors that will help support thousands of enterprise customers’ mission-critical data pipelines and load data reliably to the different cloud warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks) and Data Lake (Apache Iceberg). Key Responsibilities ● Lead a team of passionate software engineers that prides itself on ownership and impact. ● Be hands-on in technical architecture/code reviews, and if/as needed, make contributions to the code. ● Own the ultimate outcome and success of critical product line(s) at Hevo. ● Drive on-time, high-quality product delivery. ● Drive better efficiency and process improvement for various aspects of the team’s / product’s operations. ● Drive adoption of engineering best practices. ● Work with Product Managers to have a holistic view across engineering and product, and drive engineering and product strategy (wear a product manager hat when needed). ● Help the organisation scale and grow with the business - attract and groom the best talent!

Required Skills & Experience ● 10+ years of professional work experience in software development. ● 1+ years of experience in leading the team, either as an Engineering manager/Sr. manager or similar role in a fast-paced engineering environment. ● Outstanding customer-centric mindset, growth mindset, and hunger for impact. ● Strong coding, design, and architectural skills - be a technical leader for the team. ● Solid experience in building the scale-out distributed backend services to run on multi-tenant environments. ● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills ● Strong in data-driven metrics to establish operational excellence for the team. ● Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Must Have Skills ● Strong technical depth and solid people management experience ● 1–5 years of Engineering Manager experience ● Ability to review code, identify issues, and guide engineers technically ● Should be open to hands-on technical oversight (code reviews, design reviews) ● Proven ability to grow engineering teams, mentor, and take tough decisions ● Comfortable handling complex technical discussions, performance issues, and roadmap execution

Good to Have Skills ● Strong management experience (both long-term and diverse teams) ● Ability to handle low performers and high performers effectively ● Experience working in a start-up or fast-paced environment ● Exposure to scaling teams or building new teams from scratch
