Job Description: Manager Engineering

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Manager Engineering to lead automotive engineering, vehicle testing, and validation operations, with a preference for candidates experienced in electric two-wheelers. The role involves managing testing facilities, leading engineering teams, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering customer projects within defined timelines and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Engineering & Testing Operations

• Lead end-to-end planning, execution, analysis, and reporting of vehicle and component testing activities.
• Oversee performance, durability, environmental, electrical and electronics, battery and charging system, NVH, and safety testing.
• Ensure the effective functioning of laboratory equipment, instrumentation, and testing facilities.
• Coordinate with homologation and certification agencies for regulatory compliance.

2. Team Management

• Lead, mentor, and develop engineers, technicians, and validation teams.
• Allocate resources, monitor deliverables, and ensure timely completion of engineering activities.
• Drive technical capability development and employee training initiatives.

3. Project & Stakeholder Management

• Manage multiple customer projects simultaneously, ensuring timely execution and delivery.
• Review engineering reports, test data, and validation summaries for accuracy and quality.
• Coordinate with OEMs, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to achieve project objectives.

4. Process & Quality Improvement

• Develop and implement SOPs, testing methodologies, and engineering best practices.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety guidelines, and equipment calibration requirements.
• Support implementation and maintenance of NABL and ISO standards, including audit readiness.

5. Technical Coordination & Facility Development

• Support root cause analysis, failure investigations, and corrective actions.
• Contribute to new laboratory development, equipment procurement, and facility expansion.
• Evaluate emerging testing technologies and EV validation methodologies.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive, or Mechatronics Engineering.
• Master’s degree preferred.

Experience

• 8–12 years of experience in automotive testing, validation, R&D, or engineering operations.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in team handling or a managerial role.
• Experience in EV two-wheeler testing laboratories or automotive OEMs is preferred.

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of vehicle systems, component testing, and validation methodologies.
• Knowledge of automotive regulations, homologation, and certification processes.
• Experience with data acquisition systems, instrumentation, and engineering tools.
• Strong project management and stakeholder coordination skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Proven leadership and team management capabilities.

Preferred Skills

• Exposure to AIS, CMVR, ISO, and automotive compliance standards.
• Experience in EV battery, motor, controller, and charging system validation.
• Familiarity with CAN tools, MATLAB, LabVIEW, or simulation tools.
