About the Team:

Shopping Experience Platform org enables the end to end shopping funnel for the multitude of Flipkart customers across our various business lines. Delighting our customers across their shopping journey is our mantra- starting from creating intent in our customers via push notifications, exciting them with our rich storefront experience, helping them discover products via search, assisting them in deciding about the products with a rich catalog, help them close the transaction; place that order and serving them with a reliable cancellation and returns experience. Personalized journeys, State of the art applied AI/ML, handling scale never seen before are but just a few complex problems this org solves on a daily basis. Platforms like Product Indexes, Catalog, Order Management System, User Insight Engine form the bulwark, a strong foundation on top of which the different pages of the shopping funnel, the different finding methods Search, Recommendations and Merchandising sit. Product page assures customers to a decision and Cart, Checkout pages earn the customers trust to close out the transaction.

You are responsible for:

Engineering Managers (EMs) lead engineers across levels of diverse groups of people who are moving towards realizing Flipkart's vision. They set the direction and the long term vision for the team, partner with the product, business, and other stakeholders to realize their vision. The teams work on a spectrum of products and platforms which power Flipkart. They lead the way for the teams to evangelize various ideas, provide technical leadership, and facilitate platformization of the systems across the ecosystem. SEMspartner with product teams on key business metrics in their areas, lead the way for innovative solutions to complex and challenging domain problems and drive agility in execution by leading by example.

● Build, lead, develop and provide hands-on leadership for top-notch engineers and leads.

● Create clear career paths for team members to help them grow with regular and deep mentoring, Attract and retain top talent keeping long term goals in mind

● Drive strategy and vision across teams in a rapidly evolving environment

● Work closely with diverse stakeholders and enable them by providing scalable and quality technology solutions.

● Facilitate platforms solutions that span beyond the team and across the ecosystem

● Take accountability for moving the key business metrics within your area and Provide thought partnership to the product team and ensure collaboration among product, engineering, and business operation teams.

● Drive agility in execution, create a strong team culture of responsiveness by leading by example and own decision making around prioritization for better predictability Technologies used : Java, Python, Scala, Mysql, Redis, Elastic Search, Spark, Hadoop, Hive, HBase, Druid, MongoDB, Aerospike, Kafka, RabbitMQ, nodejs, React Native, Reactjs, Reactive Programming with Vert.x & Spring webflux, Google Cloud Platform, K8s.

You should have:

● B.Tech, M.tech or any other similar qualification with at least 10+ years of experience in building cutting edge products with 2+ years in people management

● Good understanding of technology and architecture in a highly scalable and available setup

● Strong experience handling large data (batch and real-time), workflows and scheduling, building pluggable frameworks and systems, strong abstraction, and design skills.

● Proven track record of delivering products with high quality, familiarity with multiple software development practices and tools

● Strong partnership with product and business teams that demonstrates effective collaboration and communication across multiple stakeholders

● Exposure to different design & architecture patterns as we build systems in SOA. Exposure to batch processing & near real time pipelines to transition data between multiple systems
