Engineering Manager

Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of backend engineers, setting clear goals and supporting their career development.
• Own the planning, execution, and on-time delivery of backend projects with high quality and reliability.
• Drive technical direction and architecture for backend services built on Java and Spring Boot.
• Stay hands-on where it matters, reviewing code, unblocking the team, and setting a high engineering bar.
• Establish and improve engineering practices around code quality, testing, observability, and system reliability.
• Collaborate with product and cross-functional stakeholders to define priorities and roadmaps.
• Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.

Requirements:

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, with a strong track record building backend systems.
• At least 1 year of leadership experience leading projects, tech leading, or managing a team.
• Strong, hands-on expertise in Java and Spring Boot (required).
• High ownership: you take responsibility for outcomes end to end and hold a high bar for yourself and your team.
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
• Solid grounding in system design, distributed systems, APIs, and databases.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across functions.
