Engineering Lead - DevOps

About The Role EMotorad is looking for a hands-on Engineering Lead to own platform architecture, system performance, engineering quality, and team leadership. This role will lead the engineering team, with backend developers and the Frontend Lead reporting directly to this position.

Key Responsibilities

• Own overall system architecture, scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Drive backend architecture, middleware design, APIs, and database governance.
• Lead engineering execution, code quality, PR approvals, and technical reviews.
• Optimize system latency, application performance, and platform stability.
• Oversee cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, and DevOps best practices.
• Drive monitoring, observability, security, and production readiness.
• Leverage AI-powered development tools and workflows to improve engineering productivity and code quality.
• Mentor and manage engineering teams, fostering a culture of ownership and excellence.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Business teams to deliver high-impact solutions.
• Participate in hiring, team building, and engineering capability development.

Requirements

• 7 to 12 years of software engineering experience with 2+ years in a technical leadership role.
• Strong expertise in backend systems, distributed architecture, APIs, and databases.
• Solid understanding of system design, scalability, performance optimization, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Working knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and infrastructure automation.
• Experience leading engineering teams and driving end-to-end product delivery.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted coding and modern engineering productivity tools.
• Strong problem-solving, stakeholder management, and communication.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in high-growth product companies or Startups.
• Exposure to IoT, connected devices, mobility, or automotive technology.
