1. Job Purpose

Responsible for mechanical assembly, fitting, alignment, inspection, and validation of plastic injection moulds to ensure smooth operation, dimensional accuracy, and reliable mould performance.

2. Key Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical assembly and fitting of plastic injection moulds as per assembly drawings and 3D models.
• Assemble mould plates, core, cavity, inserts, sliders, lifters, ejector plates, ejector pins, guide pillars, and bushes.
• Check mould alignment, parting line matching, shut-off areas, and core-cavity fitment.
• Perform dismantling, cleaning, fitting, spotting, polishing, lapping, and reassembly of mould components.
• Check clearances and smooth movement of sliders, lifters, ejector systems, and guide mechanisms.
• Assemble and verify cooling circuits, water connectors, seals, and hot runner components, where applicable.
• Inspect mechanical dimensions using Vernier Calipers, Micrometers, Dial Indicators, Height Gauges, and other precision instruments.
• Identify assembly issues and coordinate with CNC, EDM, Wire Cut, Grinding, and Tool Design teams for corrections.
• Participate in mould trials and resolve mechanical issues such as flash due to mismatch, improper ejection, mould sticking, and alignment problems.
• Support new mould development, engineering changes, mould modifications, and final tool handover.
• Maintain assembly checklists, inspection reports, mould history records, and trial observations.
• Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and tool room housekeeping standards.
