Engineer

A Release Engineer oversees the software build, test, and deployment lifecycle, ensuring that code updates move safely, predictably, and efficiently from development environments into production.

Core Responsibilities

CI/CD Automation: Design, build, and optimize continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines to automate build, testing, and deployment workflows.

Version Control & Branching: Implement and enforce branching strategies (e.g., GitFlow, Trunk-Based Development) to manage code integration and prevent merge conflicts across team releases.

Environment Management: Configure and maintain pre-production, staging, and production environments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to guarantee environment consistency.

Release Governance: Schedule release cadences, manage cross-project dependencies, track changelogs, and lead change advisory board (CAB) reviews.

Risk & Rollback Management: Establish monitoring during deployments, implement zero-downtime deployment strategies (e.g., Blue-Green, Canary), and execute immediate rollback procedures if post-release issues arise.

Security & Compliance: Embed automated security scans, credential management, and compliance checks into the build pipeline prior to deployment.
