This role is critical to the product development cycle, supporting cost governance from Program Start through Job 1. You will be responsible for monitoring and reporting program cost status including Risks Opportunities (RO), leading financial trade-off discussions with Cross-Functional Teams (CFTs) and partnering with suppliers and internal Cost Estimation teams to establish accurate cost estimates for engineering changes. Additionally, you will support sourcing strategy execution, verify supplier Engineering Design Testing (EDT) scope against the Engineering Statement of Work (ESOW), and track Tooling and Purchase Order (PO) updates for key stakeholders. Beyond the core costing and sourcing scope, you will play an active role in modernizing team operations by leveraging Python, Power BI, and basic AI techniques to automate manual trackers, reports, and analyses driving measurable efficiency and value addition for the team.
- Monitor, update, and report program cost status, including Risks Opportunities (RO), regularly from Program Start through Job 1.
- Lead financial trade-off discussions with Cross-Functional Teams (CFTs) to evaluate and balance cost changes against product requirements.
- Partner with suppliers to secure detailed quotes and collaborate with internal Cost Estimation teams to establish accurate estimates for engineering changes.
- Facilitate and drive CFT meetings involving Finance, Purchasing (Buyers), and Cost Estimation teams.
- : Identify cost opportunities from supplier quotes regarding Material Costs, Tooling Costs, and EDT throughout design, development, and launch phases.
- Maintain the program change tracker from program start to Job 1.
- Support and track execution of the SOBA (Supplier On Board Agreement) plan.
- Verify supplier EDT against the Engineering Statement of Work (ESOW) and secure approvals from the governance board.
- Prepare and present Tooling Cost estimates to Program Management; track and report Tooling and PO updates to key stakeholders.
- roactively identify manual, repetitive cost/sourcing tasks and build Python- and Power BI-based automation solutions leveraging basic AI techniques where applicable (e.g., pattern recognition, predictive flags) to improve tracker accuracy, reporting speed, and overall team efficiency.
