Engineer Production

Job Purpose

To manage and monitor day-to-day production activities for railway components and assemblies, ensuring production targets, quality standards, delivery schedules, safety requirements, and process compliance are achieved.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and monitor daily production activities as per production schedules.
• Ensure timely manufacturing of railway components, assemblies, and fabricated/composite structures as per drawings and specifications.
• Monitor manpower, machine utilization, material availability, and production output.
• Ensure adherence to SOPs, Work Instructions, Quality Standards, and Railway customer requirements.
• Coordinate with Quality, PPC, Maintenance, SCM, Stores, Engineering, and NPD teams to resolve production issues.
• Monitor production losses, rejection, rework, downtime, and improve productivity.
• Analyze production problems and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Maintain production records, MIS, shift reports, rejection reports, and other manufacturing documentation.
• Support process improvement, line balancing, productivity improvement, and cost reduction initiatives.
• Ensure proper handling and traceability of raw materials, WIP, and finished products.
• Ensure compliance with 5S, PPE, EHS, and shop-floor safety practices.
• Participate in internal/customer audits and ensure closure of production-related observations.
• Train and guide operators/workmen on processes, quality requirements, and safety procedures.

Railway Industry Exposure Preferred

Experience in manufacturing of railway coaches, railway interiors, rail components, fabricated structures, sheet-metal assemblies, composites/FRP components, or other railway systems/components will be preferred.
