Engineer ll (Structural Simulations)

Job Purpose:

We are currently looking for Engineer ll (Structural analysis) to join our Engineering Simulations team of Global Technical (GT) Group, Donaldson Inc. In this role, you will play a key role in driving simulation-led design improvements and accelerating product development for filtration and emission mixing systems. Collaborating with teams across the US, EMEA, and APAC, your work will directly influence the design of steel structures including components and assemblies.

Key Accountabilities:

• Utilize the analytical skill set and structural analysis tools (RISA-3D/ STAAD-Pro, Ansys or equivalent tool) to perform complex structural analysis and recommendations for design improvements at different stages of product development process.
• Perform verification of steel strcures in accordance with AISC, ASCE 7, IBC, Eurocode, and Indian Standards as applicable.
• Develop load cases and load combinations for dead, live, wind, seismic, snow, operational, transportation, and lifting conditions.
• Evaluate load table, unity cheks, stresses, deflections, stability, and code compliance for support structures and Ailr filtration housing in accordance with applicable industry standards and customer requirements.
• Perform lifting and handling analyses for equipment, skids, fabricated structures, lifting lugs, and support frames, including evaluation of rigging loads and critical load paths
• Develop and validate FEA models for linear/nonlinear static, modal, harmonic, random vibration, response spectrum, seismic, transportation, and lifting load analyses at component and assembly levels.
• Conduct strength, stiffness, fatigue, durability, buckling, vibration, and structural integrity assessments of welded and non-welded metal and plastic components.
• Prepare engineering calculations, structural assessment reports, technical documentation, and design recommendations with clear assumptions, methodologies, results, and conclusions.
• Drive continuous improvement of FEA modeling methodologies, simulation best practices, and engineering processes to enhance analysis accuracy, efficiency, and technical capability.
• Collaborate with global cross-functional teams, provide structural design oversight, support technical reviews, maintain project status reporting, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality engineering solutions.

Education Qualification:

• Only M.E./M-Tech in Mechanical Engineering/ Automotive Engineering/ Civil Engineering or Related engineering Fields

Technical Competence & Skills:

• Solid foundation in the fundamentals of computational methods concerning structural analysis of steel structures.
• Demonstrated skills in structural analysis software such as RISA-3D/ STAAD-Pro, Ansys or equivalent tools.
• Experience working with CAD tools such as Uni-Graphics (NX) and/or PTC Creo (Pro/E) for design modeling and geometry preparation.
• Strong ability to read, interpret, and analyze engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
