Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Engineer to join our Compensation Transformation Program. This role is critical to designing and implementing modern data and application capabilities that transform how compensation processing, data flows, validation, and automation operate across the enterprise. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in
PL/SQL and
Oracle database development ,
AWS cloud services , and
Varicent platform integration .
.NET experience can be beneficial but is not a mandatory requirement for this role. You will work closely with architects, product teams, compensation SMEs, and engineering partners to deliver scalable, resilient, and future-ready systems that modernize the compensation platform end-to-end. Key Responsibilities Core - Oracle Data Engineering
- Design and implement end-to-end data pipelines to support compensation calculations, ingestion, validation, and downstream processing
- Build and maintain ETL/ELT workflows using PL/SQL, Oracle SQL, and enterprise data integration patterns
- Develop and optimize stored procedures, packages, and database objects for rules-driven compensation processing
- Implement data quality, reconciliation, auditing, and monitoring layers to ensure high data integrity for compensation processes
- Model, transform, and tune relational data in Oracle for performance, reliability, and scalability Cloud & Platform Integration
- Design and implement event-driven workflows leveraging AWS services and serverless components to orchestrate compensation data flows
- Configure and support Varicent workflows including data loading, plan execution, and output distribution Application & Platform Engineering (Good-to-Have)
- Contribute to application components and microservices supporting compensation workflows (.NET - optional)
- Assist with API design or UI enhancements as needed to improve access to compensation data and processing Engineering Excellence
- Partner with product, architecture, QA, and DevOps teams in an Agile environment
- Apply CI/CD practices for automation and deployment of database scripts and cloud-based data components
- Troubleshoot data, database, and workflow issues quickly and effectively
- Analyze existing processes and propose improvements to increase transparency, scalability, and automation in compensation processing
- Communicate clearly with business stakeholders, compensation SMEs, and technology partners Technical Skills & Platforms Primary - PL/SQL & Oracle
- PL/SQL development: stored procedures, packages, functions, and complex SQL
- Oracle database design, modelling, indexing, and performance optimization
- ETL/ELT development and relational data transformation in Oracle environments
- Experience with SQL coding/compiling tools like TOAD, SQL Developer or other similar DB utilities.
- Experience with Oracle Forms/Reports would be asset and good to have. - Secondary - AWS Cloud & Varicent
- AWS: Glue, Lambda, EventBridge, RDS, S3, Step Functions, SQS, and SNS
- Varicent: data ingestion, workflow configuration, and compensation calculation support
- Hybrid integration patterns connecting Oracle, AWS, and Varicent Good-to-Have - .NET
- .NET, C#, or Web API development for compensation-related application components
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience designing and implementing complex systems
- 3+ years of hands-on PL/SQL and Oracle development experience, ideally in transformation-heavy or rules-driven domains
- Strong understanding of enterprise integration patterns, SOA concepts, and system design principles
- DevOps experience with GitHub, CI/CD, build and deploy pipelines
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Snowflake or other modern cloud data warehouses
- Experience developing systems related to compensation, payroll, financial calculations, or rules-driven engines
- Experience with Jira, TeamCity, or Octopus Deploy
- Hands-on experience implementing self-service portals or customer service applications
- Experience writing unit tests (NUnit, JUnit, or equivalent)
- Knowledge of estimation tools and principles
- Exposure to cloud-based application design and implementation Soft Skills & Competencies
