Engineer - Electrical Safety

Role & responsibilities

• Code Compliance: Ensure all temporary and permanent electrical installations (power distribution, earthing, lighting, heavy equipment connections) strictly adhere to the Indian Electricity Rules (e.g., CEA Rules, latest amendments) and relevant BIS standards.
• Responsibilities include providing technical supervision to contractors' safety teams; strictly enforcing the project-wide Lock-out/Tag-out (LOTO) system; and overseeing the inspection and certification of electrical safety equipment.
• KPIs track performance based on Zero fatal/serious electrical accidents; high passing rates on statutory inspections; 100% adherence to PTW/LOTO procedures; and timely closure of electrical safety audit NCRs.
• The manager is accountable for continuous compliance with CEA Rules and avoiding legal penalties; ensuring Worker Safety from electrical hazards; preventing asset damage from faults.

Preferred candidate profile

Requires 3-5 years experience as an Electrical Safety Engineer, preferably on HV/LV infrastructure projects. Must have expert knowledge of Indian Electricity Rules, earthing principles, HIRA, and LOTO implementation.
