Engineer - Costing

Prime Responsibility:

• Estimation knowledge & preparation of Cost Breakdown for an Interior & Exterior injection parts.
• Detailed Should cost analysis based on material, manufacturing processes, and other cost elements for both Built to Spec and Built to Print products through analytical, tear down approach.
• New Program Target Setting with estimation and submit bidding to the customer.
• Financial analysis of localization / Cost Reduction proposals and recommendations for financial viability of the project.
• Estimate ED&T, capex & tool manufacturing items in line with best practices.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Periodically review the BOM and Overhead allocations and fix the cost leakages.
• Regular price revision for RM & direct purchase parts on monthly, quarterly and annual.
• Execute YOY price negotiation and optimize terms and conditions.
• Support analysis for Cost and investment changes that affects various Engineering Changes for new and running programs.
• Respond to the marketing department for costing of RFQs for standard / existing products based on current framework of costs, to support the marketing department in winning orders.
• Manage purchase operations, including procurement planning, vendor development, and cost control.
• Develop new vendors and negotiate prices with existing ones to achieve cost rationalization goals.
• Assisting month end and year end closing.

Skills Requirement:

• RFQ sales/ Customer service; Costing, Pricing Proposals Analytical & Negotiating Skills.
• New Business development and support bringing products and application from Engineering to serial mass production for passenger cars.
• Should have direct experience with Major automotive OEM Sales and marketing.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point & Basic SAP knowledge.
• Should be able analyse and estimate the costs associated with the production of new products, including materials, labour, equipment, tooling, and overhead expenses.
• Strong knowledge to calculate cycle time for injection / blow moulding machines and special process.
• Strong experience coordinate between CFT & Customer ensuring the responsibilities are handled with independence, authority & accountability.
• Experience in global sourcing & Local vendor development.
• Effectively communicate with those both inside and outside of direct team and give clear updates on all initiatives.
