JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: an individual contributor working on complex condition monitoring projects convert field data (time-series, event/diag codes, SOS, workorders etc ) to engineering insights demonstrate IC engine expertise and provide technical guidance to the other CMAs & data scientists convert domain knowledge to predictive analytics (algorithms & data visualization solutions) manage the project KPIs/metrics for the CM projects work with other SMEs and aid quick issue resolution
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical/Automobile engineering or equivalent with 5 to 8 years of progressive experience in engine and/or aftertreatment performance development, simulation, data analysis or testing Strong customer/field service experience, communication, interpersonal and organizational skills are critical for success in this position Background in statistics/big data analysis (1D/2D histograms, event finding, confidence intervals etc) Basic signal processing knowledge (filtering techniques, moving averages, trap conditions etc)
TOP CANDIDATES WILL ALSO HAVE : Master’s degree in IC engines or Thermal engineering Knowledge and experience in SI (Gas) engines Exposure to Caterpillar field data/service infrastructure – SIS2, PSR, VIMS, SC2 and ECM event/diagnostic codes (J1939) Technical training/coaching experience Project and stakeholder management Strong communication skills: both verbal and written; ability to quickly create presentations for internal and external customers An initiative and ability to resolve issues either individually or through appropriate team guidance is desired.
