Accountabilities:: The Employee Benefits Sales Advisor will be responsible for developing new business opportunities, strengthening client partnerships, and providing expert guidance on employee benefits solutions. This role requires a proactive sales approach, strong market knowledge, and the ability to serve as a trusted advisor throughout the client lifecycle.
Achieve annual revenue goals through consultative sales strategies focused on acquiring new clients and expanding services with existing accounts.
Build and maintain a qualified sales pipeline through networking, referrals, marketing initiatives, and strategic prospecting activities.
Develop and execute individual sales plans aligned with business objectives and performance targets.
Research market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to identify growth opportunities.
Create and deliver compelling client presentations, recommendations, and proposals based on identified needs.
Establish trusted relationships with key decision-makers and serve as a strategic advisor on employee benefits strategies.
Assess client risks, coverage needs, and potential challenges while recommending appropriate solutions.
Collaborate with internal service teams to ensure smooth client transitions after sales completion.
Maintain accurate documentation of sales activities, opportunities, and client interactions.
Represent the organization professionally through client meetings, industry events, and networking opportunities.
Provide insights to leadership regarding market trends, client feedback, and competitive intelligence.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate brings insurance sales expertise, strong communication skills, and the ability to build long-term client relationships. Success in this role requires a combination of consultative selling experience, employee benefits knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
Active Life and Health insurance license in the state of residence, with the ability to maintain required licensing.
Minimum of 2 years of sales experience within the insurance industry, specifically focused on Employee Benefits solutions.
Strong understanding of employee benefits products, insurance markets, underwriting processes, and coverage strategies.
Experience developing client relationships through networking, referrals, and strategic partnerships.
Excellent presentation, negotiation, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to create and deliver engaging presentations using tools such as PowerPoint and virtual meeting platforms.
Strong relationship-building skills with clients, carriers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
Ability to analyze client needs and provide thoughtful, consultative recommendations.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced sales environment.
Self-motivated, competitive, and results-oriented mindset with strong ownership of goals.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to client locations when required.
College degree preferred, with additional experience in risk management considered an advantage.
