Role & responsibilities

The Emergency Paramedic is responsible for providing rapid, safe, and effective pre-hospital emergency medical care to patients during ambulance transport. The role involves assessing patients, providing emergency treatment, stabilizing critical conditions, and safely transporting patients to appropriate healthcare facilities.

• Operate, manage, and maintain all life-support and emergency medical equipment carried in the ambulance.
• Demonstrate proficiency in the use of advanced life-support (ALS) equipment, including defibrillators, ventilators, suction devices, infusion pumps, oxygen-delivery systems, and airway-management equipment.
• Ensure all life-support equipment is checked, functional, adequately stocked, and ready for immediate emergency use.
• Use life-support equipment appropriately according to clinical protocols, patient condition, and scope of practice.
• Identify equipment faults and promptly report or arrange corrective action.
