About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Embedded Motor Control Validation Engineer to join our engineering team in Pune. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in embedded firmware testing, motor control validation, HIL testing, and power electronics-based systems. The role involves validating BLDC, PMSM, and Induction Motor control algorithms, ensuring software quality, performance, reliability, and compliance across embedded platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Embedded System Testing

• Develop, execute, and maintain manual test cases for embedded firmware and control software.
• Perform black-box and gray-box testing for motor control applications.
• Validate firmware on MCU/DSP-based embedded targets.
• Analyze requirements and prepare test strategies, test scenarios, and coverage metrics.
• Execute functional, integration, system, and regression testing activities.

Motor Control Validation

• Validate motor control algorithms for:
• BLDC Motors
• PMSM Motors
• Induction Motors
• Field-Oriented Control (FOC)
• Speed, Torque, and Position Control Loops
• Verify system behavior under varying operating conditions, including:
• Load changes
• Temperature variations
• Voltage fluctuations
• Environmental stress conditions
• Validate start-up, shutdown, fault handling, and safety mechanisms.
• Analyze motor performance, efficiency, and dynamic response.

HIL & Bench Testing

• Conduct validation using:
• Oscilloscopes
• Logic Analyzers
• Power Analyzers
• Motor Dynamometers (Dyno)
• Test Benches
• Support Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL), Software-in-the-Loop (SIL), and Model-in-the-Loop (MIL) testing.
• Perform hardware-software integration and system-level validation.
• Analyze waveforms, signals, and control responses during testing.

Defect Management & Debugging

• Identify, log, and track defects using tools such as JIRA/ALM.
• Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) in collaboration with development teams.
• Debug firmware and system-level issues using logs, waveform analysis, and diagnostic tools.
• Support issue resolution and validation closure activities.

Compliance & Quality Assurance

• Ensure compliance with applicable standards such as:
• ISO Standards
• IEC Standards
• Automotive SPICE (ASPICE)
• Functional Safety standards (preferred)
• Maintain Requirement Traceability Matrix (RTM), test reports, and validation documentation.
• Support internal audits, customer reviews, and quality assessments.
