Embedded Firmware Engineer

Embedded Firmware Engineer (35 Years Experience)
Role Purpose: Develop embedded firmware and software for JK Exims railway systems including Video Surveillance Systems, Fire & Smoke Detection, Coach Door Automation, and Train Condition Monitoring ensuring realtime performance, diagnostics, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:

• Firmware development for STM32/ESP32 microcontrollers in Embedded C/C++.
• Implement communication protocols: Ethernet, CAN bus, RS485 (Modbus RTU), SPI, I2C, UART.
• Develop Windows/Linux based applications software.
• Develop RTOSbased architectures for realtime task scheduling and safety monitoring.
• Diagnostics & logging: event monitoring, predictive maintenance algorithms, SD card/RTCbased data logging.
• Integration with IoT protocols (MQTT/HTTP) for remote monitoring and railway control networks.
• Video Surveillance: firmware for PoE cameras, MNVR integration, multicamera synchronization.
• Fire & Smoke Detection: sensor data acquisition, threshold detection, alarm triggering.
• Coach Door Automation: control logic for door actuation, safety interlocks, fault detection.
• Train Condition Monitoring: vibration/temperature/current acquisition, analytics, fault prediction.
• Documentation: firmware release notes, test reports, certification support.

Required Skills

• Strong proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems (RTOS/Linux).
• Experience with microcontroller SDKs (ARM Cortex, Microchip, NXP, Renesas, STMicroelectronics).
• Strong knowledge of networking protocols (Ethernet, TCP/IP, VLAN, QoS).
• Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (CAN, RS485, Modbus).
• Handson with debugging tools (JTAG, logic analyzers, packet sniffer).
• Ability to work crossfunctionally with hardware, mechanical, and compliance teams.

Qualification

• Education: B.E./B.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, or Computer Science Engineering.
• Experience: 35 years in embedded firmware development, preferably in industrial, automotive, telecom, or railway systems.
• Preferred: Exposure to safetycritical systems (fire & smoke detection, condition monitoring, security & surveillance system, automation, motor control, TCMS).
