    About this role

    Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Embedded Firmware Engineer with 5+ years of experience in firmware design, development, and debugging. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in RTOS (Zephyr, FreeRTOS, ThreadX, or similar), device driver development, and embedded application design, along with awareness of bootloader development and modern processor architectures (ARM, ARC, RISC-V).

    Responsibilities

    • Architect, design, and implement embedded firmware for microcontrollers, SoCs, and edge devices.
    • Develop and maintain embedded applications for real-time data acquisition, control, and communication.
    • Implement and debug firmware modules using RTOS frameworks (Zephyr, FreeRTOS, ThreadX, or similar).
    • Design and optimize device drivers for peripherals such as SPI, UART, DMA, I2C, I2S, GPIO, ADC/DAC, PWM, CAN, and USB.
    • Collaborate with hardware engineers for seamless integration of sensors, wireless modules, and communication interfaces.
    • Develop and maintain bootloaders for secure firmware updates, system initialization, and recovery.
    • Perform low-level debugging using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and protocol analyzers.
    • Optimize firmware for performance, reliability, and low power consumption.
    • Conduct code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing to ensure quality and maintainability.
    • Document firmware architecture, design decisions, and testing procedures.
    • Contribute to continuous improvement of development workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and version control practices.

    Requirements

    • 5+ years of hands-on experience in embedded firmware development.
    • Strong proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems; familiarity with Python for scripting and automation.
    • Expertise in RTOS environments (Zephyr, FreeRTOS, ThreadX, or similar).
    • Solid experience in device driver development for microcontroller peripherals.
    • Strong knowledge of communication protocols: SPI, UART, DMA, I2C, I2S, CAN, USB, BLE.
    • Proven ability in embedded application development for real-time systems.
    • Awareness of bootloader design and implementation (secure boot, OTA updates, recovery mechanisms).
    • Familiarity with processor architectures: ARM Cortex-M/A, ARC, and RISC-V.
    • Experience with debugging tools (JTAG, SWD, GDB) and hardware instruments (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers).
    • Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and collaborative development workflows.
    • Understanding of hardware/software trade-offs, memory management, and system optimization.

    Preferred

    • Experience with wireless communication stacks (BLE, Wi-Fi, Zigbee, LoRa).
    • Knowledge of security in embedded systems (secure boot, encryption, authentication).
    • Exposure to edge AI/ML integration on embedded platforms.
    • Familiarity with continuous integration (CI/CD) for embedded projects.
    • Experience with cloud connectivity (MQTT, REST APIs) for IoT devices.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in fast-paced, cross-functional teams.

    Qualifications

    • B.Tech / B.E. in Electronics or Computer Science.
    • BCA (Bachelor of Computer Applications) or Diploma in Electronics / Computer Science with a strong embedded systems background.
