Elevator Installation Engineer

Role & Responsibilities

• Supervise and execute the complete mechanical installation of MRL and traction passenger elevators.
• Install guide-rail brackets, guide rails, landing doors, traction machines, car frames, counterweights, suspension ropes and elevator cabins.
• Check elevator shaft dimensions and confirm civil-site readiness before starting installation.
• Read and interpret elevator layout drawings, mechanical drawings and installation manuals.
• Carry out accurate alignment, levelling and adjustment of elevator mechanical components.
• Plan daily installation activities and manage technicians and helpers at the project site.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, civil contractors and electrical teams.
• Identify installation problems and provide practical technical solutions.
• Prepare daily progress reports, installation checklists and material requirements.
• Support testing, commissioning, inspection and final handover of elevators.
• Ensure that installation work complies with company quality and safety standards.
• Assist with elevator troubleshooting and maintenance whenever required.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 4 years of hands-on elevator installation experience.
• Must have independently completed elevator installation projects.
• Strong practical knowledge of MRL and traction passenger elevators.
• Experience in guide-rail installation, landing-door installation, roping, cabin assembly and mechanical adjustment is essential.
• Must be able to read elevator installation and mechanical drawings.
• Strong site-supervision, team-management and problem-solving skills.
• Must have a valid passport and be willing to relocate to Lusaka, Zambia.
• Experience with Chinese, Korean or other international elevator brands will be an advantage.
