Job Description – Electrical Wiring Harness Design Engineer

Position: Electrical Wiring Harness Design Engineer

Experience: 3–8 Years

Industry: Automotive / Commercial Vehicles

Location: Bangalore

Key Responsibilities:

Design and develop Electrical Wiring Harness for commercial vehicles using CATIA V5.

Create 3D harness routing, bundle routing, clips, connectors and supports.

Develop 2D harness drawings, schematics and manufacturing documentation.

Perform electrical packaging and harness routing considering vehicle architecture and design constraints.

Work on connector, terminal, splice, grommet and component selection.

Ensure proper clearance, bend radius, protection and serviceability of harnesses.

Review and resolve design issues with Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing and Vehicle Integration teams.

Support design changes, engineering changes and issue resolution throughout the product development cycle.

Follow automotive standards, design guidelines and customer requirements.

Required Skills:

Strong experience in CATIA V5 – Electrical Harness Design.

Hands-on experience in Commercial Vehicle / Automotive Wiring Harness.

Knowledge of 3D harness routing and 2D harness drawings.

Good understanding of connectors, terminals, clips, brackets, grommets and electrical components.

Knowledge of vehicle electrical architecture and harness packaging.

Experience with PLM tools / Teamcenter is an added advantage.

Qualification: B.E/B.Tech – Electrical / Electronics / EEE / Automobile or related engineering.
