Electrical Engineer - WTP

KEY RESPONSBILITIES

• Supervise and maintain all electrical systems including LV/MV distribution, switchgear, transformers, and motors.
• Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance of electrical equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical faults in pumps, motors, drives, and control panels.
• Monitor power consumption and optimize energy efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and plant HSE protocols.
• Maintain and update electrical drawings, schematics, and maintenance logs.
• Support commissioning of new electrical systems or plant upgrades.
• Coordinate with mechanical and instrumentation teams for integrated operations.
• Ensure timely procurement and availability of spares for electrical systems.
• Conduct electrical inspections and ensure compliance with statutory regulations.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.

FUNCTIONAL SKILLS

• Knowledge of LV/MV systems, transformers, MCC, panel boards, and motor control systems.
• Experience in electrical troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
• Familiarity with PLC/DCS systems for plant monitoring and control.
• Knowledge of power distribution, earthing, and backup systems.
• Understanding of pumps, motors, drives, and variable frequency drives (VFD).
• Electrical load calculation, protection system knowledge, and energy efficiency optimization.
• Proficient in AutoCAD / Electrical drawings interpretation.

QUALIFICATION

• B. Tech / BE in Electrical Engineering

EXPERIENCE

• 8-18 years of experience in electrical engineering for water/wastewater treatment plants.
• Hands-on experience in O&M of pumps, motors, electrical panels, and LV/MV systems.
• Experience in chemical dosing and process plant electrical systems is a plus.
