Lam Research is a leading global manufacturer of capital equipment used in making leading-edge-semiconductors across the world. We primarily compete in four specific areas – deposition, etch, photoresist strip, and single wafer clean. Lam Research India team is organized into three major areas of responsibility: Hardware, Software, and Operations. We have an open position in the Hardware group. The Hardware group, designs subassemblies and subsystems for Lam's product lines, providing innovation for the next-generation products, providing improvements in cost and reliability. In Hardware group, mechanical engineers, simulation analysts, electrical engineers, manufacturing engineers, and supplier quality engineers contribute to designing and improving Lam's products.

Join Lam as an Electrical Engineer and you'll be at the forefront, designing and developing electronic solutions for advanced applications. Your role involves designing and analyzing equipment, conducting experimental tests, evaluating results to create reliable cutting-edge solutions.

What You'll Do

Primary Responsibilities:

• Executes Electrical Engineering technical assignments, projects with primary focus on designing, developing, modifying Power distribution box and Control Panels.
• Understands the customer requirements, leads the concept development, prepares detailed schematic design, builds the product, and leads the validation of Power distribution and Control Panels.
• Selects electrical OEM components (Circuit Breakers, Contactors, Relays, terminal blocks, cables, busbars, connectors, etc.) and materials for Power distribution / control panel design.
• Creates electrical schematics for power boxes and system interconnects based on requirements received from cross-disciplinary teams.
• Works closely with Cross functional team including Mechanical Engineering, Supply chain, Test Lab, Program Management and global stakeholders while delivering assignments and projects.
• Creates and releases engineering drawings & bill of materials using Engineering Change Management process.
• Provides corrective solutions for Problem Reports of varying complexities on power boxes from suppliers and customers.
• Provides immediate response and timely resolution to design related production issues encountered during the product build process.
• Works in a very dynamic and fast paced work environment by providing custom design solutions for non-standard customer requirements having frequent design updates.
• Conducts gating design reviews to get alignment on design package from cross functional leaders.
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

Who we're looking for

• Mandatory Skills required to perform the job:
• Proficiency in assessing loading, performing SCCR calculations, thermal calculations, wire sizing, busbar designs, switchgear selection, etc.
• Proficiency in handling multiple configurations, logic for EMO, LOTO Concept, multiple power inputs and outputs.
• Creation of electrical schematic diagram, control panel facility connections & field disconnects.
• Must have worked on electrical engineering CAD tools like E3 ZUKEN or equivalent CAD packages for circuit design & simulation, form board flattening for EE documentation.
• Experience with executing & reviewing FMEA, structured Investigation, Problem Solving & Decision Making.
• Good understanding of different standards and compliances like – NEC, NFPA 79, UL 508A, IEC standard, SEMI Standard (Electrical) - S2, S8, S22 etc.
• Thorough understanding of Power Box architecture & components functionality.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Being well versed with Part life cycle management, Obsolescence management activities.
• Exposure to DFX for Power Boxes/panels
• Experience in setting up equipment for experimentation / testing in laboratory environment, setting up safe practices.
• Basic Knowledge for electronic circuits, PCBs is a value addition.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. On-site Flex you'll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. Virtual Flex you'll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
