Electrical Designer

Role & responsibilities

• Prepare and develop electrical schematics and control circuit diagrams using EPLAN Electric P8.
• Create electrical drawings for control panels, MCCs, PLC panels, distribution panels, and machine control systems.
• Develop single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, terminal diagrams, cable schedules, and panel layouts.
• Select and specify electrical components such as contactors, relays, MCBs/MCCBs, fuses, terminal blocks, power supplies, PLCs, VFDs, and sensors.
• Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM) and electrical component lists.
• Generate and maintain EPLAN reports, including terminal plans, cable lists, connection lists, and parts lists.
• Ensure drawings comply with applicable electrical standards, company standards, and project requirements.
• Review electrical designs and coordinate with electrical, automation, mechanical, and project engineering teams.
• Incorporate design changes and maintain proper revision control of electrical documentation.
• Support manufacturing, panel wiring, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting teams with electrical drawings.
• Check drawings for accuracy, completeness, and manufacturability before release.
• Maintain standard electrical symbols, macros, templates, and project libraries in EPLAN.
