About this role
About the Role Shoppers Stop is on an exciting journey to build a robust, data-led digital commerce engine. As we scale our ecommerce platform and expand our marketplace footprint across channels such as Myntra, Nykaa, Amazon, Flipkart, and our own website (shoppersstop.com), we are looking for a sharp and driven Ecommerce Analyst to establish and lead the Analytics & Marketplace wing. This is a foundational role — you will be the first dedicated hire for this function, responsible for setting up data frameworks, building reporting infrastructure, and enabling data-backed decisions across digital commerce. You will work at the intersection of analytics, marketplace operations, and commercial strategy.
Key Responsibilities 1. Analytics Wing – Setup & Operations ▸ Design and implement the ecommerce analytics framework from the ground up — KPI definition, data taxonomy, and reporting cadence ▸ Build dashboards and automated reports tracking GMV, conversion rates, AOV, CAC, traffic quality, funnel performance, and customer lifetime value ▸ Perform deep-dive analyses on website performance, product discovery, checkout behavior, and campaign ROI ▸ Translate data insights into clear, actionable business recommendations for marketing, buying, and merchandising teams ▸ Own weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance reviews with senior stakeholders 2. Marketplace Wing – Setup & Growth ▸ Establish Shoppers Stop's presence and operations across key marketplaces: Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, Nykaa, and Tata Cliq ▸ Manage end-to-end marketplace operations: onboarding, catalog syndication, pricing, promotions, SLA management, and seller health metrics ▸ Define and track marketplace-specific KPIs — sell-through rate, Buy Box win %, return rate, listing quality score, and ratings/reviews ▸ Collaborate with buying and brand teams to curate the right product assortment by platform, season, and customer segment ▸ Drive visibility through marketplace advertising (Sponsored Ads, Brand Stores, A+ content) and monitor spends vs. returns ▸ Build and maintain strong relationships with key account managers at each marketplace partner ▸ Identify new marketplace opportunities and lead pilots to test, learn, and scale 3. Commercial Strategy & Insights ▸ Conduct competitor benchmarking — pricing, promotions, product mix, and digital presence across marketplace peers ▸ Provide pricing recommendations aligned with brand positioning, competitive landscape, and margin targets ▸ Run customer segmentation and cohort analyses to personalize campaigns and improve retention ▸ Work with CRM and marketing teams to track and improve customer acquisition funnel and repeat purchase rates 4. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Team Management ▸ Manage and mentor 1–2 direct reports, setting clear goals and enabling their growth ▸ Act as the analytics and marketplace center of excellence — train and guide business teams on data-led decisions ▸ Work closely with marketing, category, supply chain, and finance teams to ensure data accuracy and business alignment ▸ Contribute to annual planning, budgeting, and forecasting for ecommerce and marketplace channels
Qualifications & Experience Must Have ▸ 5–6 years of hands-on experience in ecommerce analytics, digital retail, or marketplace management ▸ Proven experience managing operations on at least two of: Amazon Seller Central, Flipkart Seller Hub, Myntra Partner Portal, Nykaa Seller Panel ▸ Experience with web analytics tools — GA4, Adobe Analytics, Mixpanel, or similar ▸ Hands-on experience building dashboards in Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or equivalent ▸ Solid understanding of ecommerce P&L, margins, and commercial levers ▸ Excellent communication skills — ability to present data clearly to business and leadership ▸ Prior experience managing or mentoring a small team Good to Have ▸ Experience in fashion, beauty, or lifestyle retail ecommerce ▸ Working knowledge of marketplace advertising platforms (Amazon Ads, Flipkart Ads, Myntra Ads) ▸ Exposure to Python or R for advanced analytics ▸ Familiarity with CDP, CRM, or customer data platforms ▸ Prior experience in a startup or high-growth digital commerce environment Education ▸ Bachelor's degree in any discipline ▸ MBA or Post-Graduate qualification in Business Analytics / Digital Marketing
