Duty Medical Officer

Role & responsibilities

To examine, diagnose and treat for common illness and injuries.

To coordinate with nursing and other staff on duty, for error free treatment to patients and related activities.

In case of patient is in critical situation, give stabilization to the patient and take immediate advice from respective consultant or specialist to decide the further course of treatment to the patient and immediately update medical superintendent.

To see OPD. along with consultant in the working hours.

To Prepare discharge summary of patient in the stipulated time of 1 to 2 hours after patient discharge confirmation of consultant.

To assist and learn functions, for Operation Theater, wherever possible.

To update the respective records about patients history, treatment, daily progress and other observation, if any.

In case of, Medico-Legal Case ( MLC) e.g. Road Accident, Physical Assault, Sexual Assault, Suspected Poisoning, Severe Burn Injuries, then treat the patient first before doing anything else there after inform to RMO or Medical Superintendent.

In case of suspected sudden Death or suspected Unnatural Death then inform RMO or Medical Superintendent and take guidance to initiate further course of action.
