About MRK and the role

MRK (MetroRide Kids) runs safe, reliable school rides for children across Hyderabad. Parents trust us with their kids every morning and afternoon, so the quality of our drivers is the quality of our service.

As Driver Recruiter, you will own high-volume hiring of gig drivers and DCOs (Driver-cum-Owners) for MRK. You will source, screen, verify and onboard drivers who are safe, punctual and good with children, and keep the pipeline full as we add schools and routes.

Key responsibilities

• Sourcing: Run high-volume driver hiring through referrals, driver hubs, stands, transport unions, local agencies, WhatsApp/Facebook groups, job portals (Apna, WorkIndia, Naukri) and walk-in drives.

• DCO acquisition: Identify and onboard Driver-cum-Owners with suitable vehicles; explain the earning model, attachment terms and payout cycles clearly.

• Screening: Conduct phone and in-person screening for driving skill, route knowledge, punctuality, communication and suitability to ride with children.

• Verification: Coordinate document checks (DL, badge, RC, insurance, permit, fitness, PUC, Aadhaar, PAN), police verification and background checks; ensure zero gaps before a driver goes live.

• Driving & vehicle checks: Schedule driving tests and vehicle inspections with the operations team.

• Onboarding: Run induction on child safety, conduct norms, app usage and SOPs; hand over trained drivers to ops on time for route launches.

• Pipeline & reporting: Maintain the candidate tracker and CRM; report daily/weekly funnel numbers (leads, screened, verified, onboarded, active) and turnaround times.

• Retention & re-hiring: Track early attrition, collect exit reasons, re-engage dropped-off drivers and build a bench for peak demand and replacements.

• Vendor & community management: Build relationships with driver agencies, fleet owners and local networks to keep a steady supply.

Requirements

• 1–5 years of experience hiring gig drivers, DCOs or delivery partners (ride-hailing, school/staff transport, logistics, quick commerce or similar).

• Proven track record of high-volume, fast-turnaround blue-collar hiring.

• Strong network of drivers, fleet owners and agencies in Hyderabad.

• Working knowledge of driver documents, commercial vehicle permits and background verification processes.

• Fluent in Telugu and Hindi; working English.

• Comfortable with Excel/Google Sheets and a CRM or applicant tracker.

• Willing to work from the Hyderabad office and travel locally for sourcing drives.

• Graduate in any discipline.

Good to have

• Experience hiring for school transport, kids mobility or other child-safety-sensitive roles.

• Experience onboarding EV drivers or EV fleet partners.

• Familiarity with Zoho CRM or Zoho Recruit.

• Two-wheeler and a valid driving licence for field sourcing.
