About this role
Doctoral (PhD) Opportunities Applications are invited from highly motivated and talented candidates for
Doctoral (PhD) positions in our research group. Positions are available on a
full-time (on-campus) basis and on a
part-time basis for professionals from
industry and academia . Successful candidates will engage in cutting-edge, interdisciplinary research aimed at developing innovative solutions to real-world scientific, industrial, and societal challenges. We welcome applicants with a strong interest in conducting impactful research in one or more of the following areas:
- Smart Manufacturing and Intelligent Production Systems
- Surface Engineering and Advanced Materials
- Sensors and Intelligent Diagnostic Technologies
- Industrial, Healthcare, and Societal Applications of Smart Systems
- Social Innovation, Sustainable Product Design, and Technology Development
- Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Data-Driven Decision Support Systems

Preferred Qualifications Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate the following qualifications and competencies:
- A strong passion for research, innovation, and interdisciplinary problem-solving.
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills.
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline with a strong academic record; prior research experience, publications, internships, or project work are desirable.
- Proficiency in relevant computational, experimental, programming, simulation, or analytical tools.
- Commitment to research ethics, academic integrity, and professional excellence.
- Enthusiasm to actively participate in the research ecosystem at VIT through seminars, workshops, conferences, and collaborative research. Candidates who exhibit curiosity, innovation, a strong work ethic, and a passion for conducting impactful interdisciplinary research are especially encouraged to apply.
