About this role
We're building something incredibly exciting at Aforro™, and we're looking for a Backend Developer who wants to build products from the ground up — not just work on small pieces of an existing system. You'll be working closely with the founding and engineering team to build the backend for our retailer-first quick-commerce platform, powering everything from inventory and procurement to billing, orders, settlements and retailer operations.
What we're looking for We're specifically looking for someone who has a strong understanding of:
- Python & Django
- REST APIs and backend architecture
- Database design and PostgreSQL
- System design fundamentals
- Writing clean, maintainable and scalable code
- Designing reliable business logic and workflows
- Authentication, permissions and API security
- Debugging and solving backend problems independently
What you'll do
- Build and maintain backend systems using Django
- Design APIs and database structures for new features
- Work on complex workflows across inventory, orders, billing, procurement and settlements
- Take ownership of backend features from design → development → testing → deployment
- Work closely with frontend, mobile and product teams to build complete features
