About the Role:

We are looking for an accomplished Technology Director HR IT to lead enterprise-scale HR Technology transformation, modernization, data and GenAI initiatives. This is a senior leadership position within a large Enterprise Functions Technology organization, responsible for defining and executing technology strategy across HR platforms, HCM, people data, digital employee experiences and emerging AI capabilities. The successful candidate will bring a strong combination of HR Technology domain expertise, large-scale technology leadership, enterprise transformation, Data Strategy and GenAI, along with experience managing large and globally distributed technology teams.

Critical Screening Criteria:

Candidates must have substantial and demonstrable experience in HR Technology / HCM. As a guideline, at least 50% of the candidate's overall career experience should be within HR Technology, HRIS or HCM platforms. This is not a generic Technology Director role. Candidates without significant ownership of HR Technology platforms, programs or transformation initiatives should not be considered. GenAI exposure is mandatory. Candidates should have experience driving, implementing or contributing to enterprise-level GenAI initiatives, preferably involving platform development, implementation or integration into business/HR technology ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities:

1. HR Technology Strategy & Transformation:

- Define and execute enterprise-level HR Technology and HCM strategy aligned with business and people priorities.

- Lead modernization and transformation of enterprise HR platforms and associated technology ecosystems.

- Drive large-scale implementations, upgrades, migrations, integrations and platform modernization programs.

- Build actionable technology roadmaps and ensure disciplined execution against strategic priorities.

- Lead digital transformation through cloud adoption, automation, data modernization and GenAI.

- Partner with senior HR, business and technology leadership to translate business priorities into scalable technology solutions.

2. GenAI, AI & Automation:

- Drive adoption and implementation of GenAI and emerging AI technologies across the HR Technology landscape.

- Experience in GenAI platform implementation/build initiatives is highly preferred.

- Identify opportunities to use GenAI and automation to improve employee experience, productivity, decision-making and operational efficiency.

- Experience with concepts such as LLMs, RAG, AI platforms, intelligent workflows and enterprise AI integration would be advantageous.

- Ensure appropriate governance, security, data privacy and risk controls around AI implementations.

3. Data Strategy & Architecture:

- The candidate should have a strong understanding of enterprise data environments, including Data Strategy, Data Architecture, Data Governance, Data Engineering, Data Lakes / Lakehouse platforms, Enterprise data integration and APIs, Cloud-based data platforms, and Structured and unstructured enterprise data.

- Experience working with or building in-house Data Lake/Lakehouse platforms would be particularly relevant.

- The role will be expected to drive technology and data modernization while ensuring scalability, resilience, governance and security.

4. Technology & People Leadership:

- The candidate should have demonstrated experience managing a large technology organization of approximately 80100+ professionals.

- Direct leadership experience of approximately 78 Senior Managers / Engineering Managers / Technology Leads is important.

- The individual should be comfortable leading large, globally distributed engineering and technology teams and should demonstrate strong executive presence, senior stakeholder management, people leadership and succession development, technology strategy and execution, workforce and capacity planning, financial/resource management, and the ability to influence senior business and technology executives.

5. Enterprise Transformation:

- The successful candidate should have a proven track record of driving enterprise-scale modernization and transformation programs, rather than only managing BAU technology operations.

- Experience should ideally include legacy modernization, platform transformation, cloud transformation, data modernization, HR platform/HCM transformation, automation and GenAI adoption, large-scale integration programs, and enterprise architecture transformation.

- Experience in vendor consolidation, strategic vendor management and optimization of external technology partnerships is preferred.
