The Director of Array Optimization (AOT) is a senior leadership role responsible for the strategic direction, operational performance, and growth of ACT Power Services’ Array Optimization Team. This position oversees array-level corrective maintenance, performance restoration activities, and special projects across the company portfolio while maintaining responsibility for customer satisfaction, workforce development, and financial performance.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Program Management
Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Array Optimization Team
Develop annual operational objectives , growth strategies, and performance initiatives
Establish operational standards, best practices, and performance metrics
Operational Excellence
Oversee planning, scheduling, and execution of array-level projects
Direct multiple field crews operating across multiple states
Ensure accurate CMMS utilization and reporting standards
Team Development & Leadership
Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing personnel
Provide coaching, mentorship, and succession planning
Client & Stakeholder Management
Serve as executive point of contact for major customers
Lead customer reviews and operational performance meetings
Financial & Business Management
Support budgeting, forecasting, and resource planning
Identify opportunities to improve margins and productivity
Required Skills/Abilities:
10+ years of progressive utility-scale solar leadership experience
5+ years managing multi-state field operations
Extensive knowledge of PV systems, NEC requirements, and solar O&M practices
FAA Part 107 preferred
OSHA 30-Hour preferred
NFPA 70E preferred
Ability to travel up to 30%
Physical Requirements:
Work is performed both in a reporting setting and outdoors at various project sites across all weather conditions
Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures; PPE is required in all field environments
Must have the ability to sit, stoop, kneel, bend, stand, or walk for extended periods
Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis
Valid driver’s license required; travel to project sites required, including overnight stays
