About this role
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director - Fundraising & Partnerships based in India.
This is a senior leadership opportunity focused on expanding funding and strategic partnerships that improve access to healthcare for underserved communities. You will lead fundraising across corporate CSR programs, foundations, philanthropic networks, and high-net-worth individuals. The role combines relationship building, strategic planning, proposal development, impact storytelling, and fundraising analytics. You will build a strong funding pipeline while identifying institutional and regional partnership opportunities across South and Southeast Asia. Your work will directly contribute to scaling digital health programs and creating measurable social impact. You’ll collaborate closely with program, impact, finance, marketing, and executive leadership teams in a mission-driven environment. This role is ideal for an entrepreneurial fundraising leader who can turn compelling impact stories into sustainable, high-value partnerships.
Accountabilities: Develop and execute a strategic fundraising plan focused on India's corporate CSR, foundation, philanthropic, and HNI ecosystems, while identifying emerging opportunities across South and Southeast Asia.
Build and maintain a robust pipeline of at least 30 active CSR prospects across different stages of engagement, supporting an annual fundraising target of ₹5 crore.
Research corporate CSR priorities, spending patterns, budget cycles, geographic preferences, impact themes, and co-funding opportunities to identify high-potential prospects.
Build trusted, long-term relationships with CSR leaders, CXOs, sustainability executives, family offices, foundations, philanthropists, and other key decision-makers.
Serve as the primary relationship owner for major CSR and donor partnerships, ensuring strong communication, responsiveness, satisfaction, and retention.
Develop strategic institutional partnerships with implementing organizations, health systems, multilateral agencies, bilateral agencies, and other organizations capable of expanding program reach and unlocking co-funding.
Lead the development of compelling, data-driven proposals, grant applications, pitch presentations, case studies, impact briefs, and other fundraising materials tailored to individual funder priorities.
Ensure fundraising proposals and partnerships align with applicable Indian CSR regulations, Companies Act requirements, CSR-1 registration, and relevant policy and compliance frameworks.
Lead or co-lead senior-level pitches, stakeholder presentations, site visits, and beneficiary engagement activities to strengthen donor confidence and deepen relationships.
Coordinate with program and impact teams to deliver timely outcome reports, dashboards, updates, and documentation aligned with donor expectations and partnership agreements.
Collaborate with marketing and communications teams on thought leadership, case studies, impact reports, partnership content, webinars, and industry events that strengthen organizational visibility.
Maintain accurate CRM records, proposal archives, prospect information, interaction histories, funding status, and next steps using HubSpot or comparable systems.
Monitor fundraising performance through monthly dashboards covering pipeline value, conversion rates, partnership milestones, average grant size, and progress against annual targets.
Track changes in CSR regulations, funding trends, and donor priorities and continuously adapt fundraising strategies and processes accordingly.
Requirements
8–10 years of progressive fundraising experience in India, including at least 5 years focused on corporate CSR fundraising.
Bachelor's degree in business, development studies, nonprofit management, marketing, or a related discipline.
Demonstrated success raising ₹5 crore or more annually from CSR or institutional funders.
Proven experience managing 10 or more CSR partnerships simultaneously while maintaining strong relationship retention and donor engagement.
Deep understanding of India's Companies Act 2013, CSR regulations, mandatory CSR spending requirements, CSR-1 registration, and relevant compliance requirements.
Strong knowledge of India's corporate CSR ecosystem and proven ability to identify, qualify, approach, and convert high-value funding prospects.
Experience engaging HNIs, UHNIs, family offices, foundations, and philanthropic networks around social-impact investments.
Knowledge of healthcare-focused CSR priorities, digital health, gender equity, rural development, or related social-impact areas.
Excellent proposal writing, storytelling, presentation, and pitching skills, with the ability to communicate complex programs and impact models to senior corporate stakeholders.
Intermediate to advanced proficiency with HubSpot or comparable CRM platforms such as Salesforce or Zoho.
Strong Excel and Google Sheets skills, including the ability to build fundraising dashboards, analyze pipeline metrics, and use data to improve fundraising performance.
Familiarity with WordPress, email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp, and basic digital marketing analytics is beneficial.
Strong project management, organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills, with the ability to manage numerous prospects and partnership activities simultaneously.
Data-driven and analytical mindset, with experience tracking conversion rates, pipeline velocity, grant sizes, and other fundraising performance indicators.
Entrepreneurial and resourceful approach, with the ability to build fundraising infrastructure, processes, and relationships in an evolving environment.
Exceptional relationship-building skills, resilience, persistence, and comfort with rejection and long fundraising cycles.
Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with program, finance, impact, marketing, and leadership teams.
Experience in healthcare, digital health, telemedicine, last-mile healthcare, NGOs, nonprofits, or development organizations is highly desirable.
Familiarity with India's digital health policy landscape, including NITI Aayog, Ayushman Bharat, and the National Digital Health Mission, is a plus.
Experience with funding or partnership ecosystems in South and Southeast Asia, including cross-border or regional partnerships, is an advantage.
Experience developing thought leadership content, case studies, impact narratives, testimonials, or donor-facing multimedia content is a plus.
