About this role
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director, Cash Management based in the United States.
This is a senior healthcare revenue cycle leadership role responsible for overseeing cash management operations and driving strategic improvements across domestic and global service delivery teams. You will lead critical functions including bank reconciliation, payment posting, unapplied cash resolution, and reconciliation performance. The role combines operational leadership, financial analysis, process optimization, and cross-functional collaboration to strengthen payment accuracy and cash flow. You will use performance metrics, payment trends, and denial data to identify risks, uncover opportunities, and drive measurable improvements. A key component of the position is managing relationships with global service delivery centers while maintaining consistent productivity and client expectations. You’ll work closely with transformation teams, operational leaders, and senior stakeholders in a fast-paced, data-driven healthcare environment. This opportunity is well suited to an experienced revenue cycle leader who can turn complex cash management challenges into scalable processes and sustainable results.
Accountabilities:: Oversee the day-to-day performance and effectiveness of cash management operations, including bank reconciliation, payment posting, and research and resolution of unapplied payments.
Implement and continuously optimize cash management policies, standardized workflows, operating procedures, and best practices.
Monitor the overall health of reconciliations and outstanding payments, developing action plans to reduce unposted cash and improve unapplied payment resolution.
Conduct root-cause analysis and collaborate on denial mitigation strategies to address recurring payment and collection issues.
Establish, monitor, and achieve departmental performance metrics and enterprise benchmarks to measure productivity, quality, and operational effectiveness.
Analyze collection trends and payment-processing performance to proactively identify fluctuations, risks, and improvement opportunities.
Prepare and support executive-level summaries, reports, and presentations that communicate operational performance and strategic recommendations.
Lead relationships with domestic and global service delivery centers, overseeing productivity targets, performance, issue resolution, and remediation plans.
Partner with transformation teams, global service delivery leaders, and domestic reconciliation and posting teams to understand and consistently meet client expectations.
Build productive relationships across departments through collaborative communication, end-to-end problem solving, and effective leadership.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives that increase reconciliation accuracy, cash application efficiency, operational consistency, and overall revenue cycle performance.
Support strategic initiatives, special projects, and other operational priorities as required.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration or a related field preferred; equivalent education, training, and professional experience may be considered.
7+ years of revenue cycle management experience within the healthcare and/or health insurance industry.
4+ years of supervisory, management, or leadership experience preferred.
Demonstrated experience with global service delivery center reconciliation and payment posting required.
Strong knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle operations, cash reconciliation, payment posting, and unapplied cash resolution.
Demonstrated ability to analyze healthcare and denial data, identify trends, conduct root-cause analysis, and implement effective remediation strategies.
Strong leadership and people-management capabilities, with the ability to establish performance expectations and address productivity or performance gaps.
Excellent management-level oral, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across different departments, locations, cultures, and levels of seniority.
Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to interpret and apply applicable state and federal laws, regulations, and policies.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel—including pivot tables—and database software .
Comfortable working with standard office technology, including computers, telephone, internet, scanners, and related equipment.
Demonstrated professionalism, flexibility, sound judgment, and a collaborative approach to problem solving.
