Direct Taxation Executive

Job Purpose

To manage end-to-end direct tax compliance, litigation, tax assessments, transfer pricing matters, tax planning, and advisory functions while ensuring adherence to statutory requirements and supporting the business in achieving tax-efficient outcomes.

Experience: 4 - 9 Years

Qualification: CA (Preferred) / CA Inter / CMA / MBA (Finance) / LLM / LLB

Corporate Tax Compliance:

• Manage and review Corporate Income Tax Return filings.
• Handle Tax Audits and ensure timely closure of audit requirements.
• Manage Transfer Pricing compliance, audits, documentation, and benchmarking studies.
• Prepare and review Statement of Financial Transactions (SFT).
• Handle Lower/Nil TDS Certificate applications.
• Review Advance Tax computations and ensure timely tax payments.
• Manage Current Tax and Deferred Tax provisioning in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
• Perform Effective Tax Rate (ETR) analysis and reconciliations.
• Provide withholding tax opinions and support business teams on TDS-related matters.
• Analyze tax treaty provisions and DTAA implications for domestic and cross-border transactions.

Tax Litigation & Assessments:

• Represent the organization before Income Tax authorities and regulatory bodies.
• Prepare, review, and submit responses to notices, assessments, reassessments, and tax proceedings.
• Manage appeals before CIT(A), DRP, ITAT, and other relevant forums.
• Draft submissions, rectification applications, and legal responses.
• Coordinate with external consultants, tax counsels, and advisors on litigation matters.
• Drive closure of tax disputes and litigation issues in a timely manner.

Tax Planning & Advisory

• Advise business stakeholders on tax-efficient structures and transactions.
• Support strategic tax planning and optimization initiatives.
• Evaluate tax implications of new business models, contracts, and projects.
• Provide advisory support on domestic and international taxation matters.

Financial Reporting & Tax Accounting

• Ensure compliance with Ind AS requirements relating to taxation.
• Assess ICDS implications and related tax impacts.
• Support statutory audit, internal audit, and tax audit requirements.
• Prepare management reports, tax MIS, and presentations for leadership.

Stakeholder Management

• Partner with Finance, Legal, Treasury, Business Teams, and external advisors.
• Provide timely tax advisory and support to business decisions.
• Drive tax governance and compliance framework improvements.

Preferred Experience

• Exposure to Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A).
• Tax Due Diligence assignments.
• International Taxation and Cross-Border Transactions.
• Tax Structuring and Business Reorganization.
• Tax Technology Transformation and process automation initiatives.
• SAP environment exposure.
• Experience in large corporates, infrastructure, data center, EPC, manufacturing, energy, real estate, consulting firms, or Big 4 organizations.
