Role & responsibilities

• Handling Income tax assessment proceedings online ability to apply the Income tax Act to the facts of the case; knowledge of Income tax law including Act and regulations and decided case law; would involve drafting skills and good communication skills for virtual hearings and for interacting with clients; knowledge of procedural law under the Income tax Act;
• Handling income tax appellate proceedings – online – above
• Handling Income tax Appellate Tribunal hearing – physical – above plus ability it argue in open court
• Handling other miscellaneous income tax matters – either physical or online – as above
• Advisory on routine tax issues – understanding and analysing facts and applying law thereto; research for case law; drafting opinions; drafting skills;
• Advisory on complex tax issues as above only the degree of complexity would be higher
• Vetting income tax Returns of income and computation of income – knowledge of law; ability to read financial statements and cull out facts and figures having a bearing on the tax computation
• Certification of foreign outbound remittances – knowledge of international tax laws and case law in relation thereto. This is a specialised field
• Transfer pricing regulations – knowledge of law; ability to read segmental financial statements; knowledge of case law. This is a specialised field

Preferred candidate profile

• CA / Inter CA / B.Com with relevant experience
• 1–4 years of experience in Direct Taxation
• Strong knowledge of Tax advisory, Litigation etc.
