Function: EV Charging & Fleet Electrification

Reports to: Charging Team Lead

Works with: Internal platform/IT team, logistics user teams, charger and vehicle OEMs

Experience: 8–10 years; product, digital or operations background with frontend and user-experience exposure (not a core IT role)

ROLE PURPOSE

Turn the needs of fleet users into digital tools that run the charging network. Own the charging command centre view and the apps and dashboards that logistics teams use, working with the internal platform team to build them.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Customer requirements: Understand how drivers, depot supervisors, fleet managers and planners work, using interviews, field visits and observation, and convert findings into clear requirements and user journeys.
• Product delivery: Define features, write specifications, prioritise the backlog and work with the platform team to build and release web and mobile apps; manage user testing and adoption.
• Command centre: Design and run a command centre view of vehicles and chargers covering charger status, state of charge, charging schedules, alerts, energy use and exceptions.
• KPIs and analytics: Define the metrics customers run their business on, such as uptime, vehicle readiness, charging cost per km, energy consumption and turnaround, and build dashboards and reports for them.
• Integration: Coordinate integration of charger management systems (OCPP), telematics, fleet and dispatch systems and energy data with the internal platform.
• UI/UX: Ensure tools are simple and usable in depot conditions, including for drivers on mobile.
• Support: Manage issues, change requests and continuous improvement with users and the platform team.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, technology or a related field; MBA or design or product qualification is a plus.
• 8–10 years in digital product, fleet or logistics technology, mobility platforms or control-room operations.
• Experience running or building a command centre or similar operations monitoring setup for fleets.
• Understanding of cloud and web architecture, mobile app development, APIs and data flows, enough to guide builders and review work.
• Working knowledge of UI/UX design, wireframing and prototyping tools; ethnography or user research is valued.
