Digital Automation Manager

Role & responsibilities

• Lead the digital automation strategy, roadmap, and implementation across business functions.
• Identify and prioritize high-value opportunities for RPA, workflow automation, AI automation, process mining, and GenAI.
• Analyze existing business processes and drive process reengineering, simplification, standardization, and automation.
• Manage end-to-end automation programs from discovery and business case development through POC, implementation, deployment, and optimization.
• Design scalable automation solutions and architecture integrating enterprise applications, APIs, databases, cloud platforms, and business systems.
• Lead implementation of RPA solutions using platforms such as UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, and Microsoft Power Automate.
• Evaluate opportunities to incorporate Generative AI, AI Agents, intelligent document processing, OCR, and AI-powered decision automation.
• Develop automation business cases and measure ROI, cost savings, productivity improvements, cycle-time reduction, quality, and operational efficiency.
• Establish automation governance covering security, compliance, data privacy, access management, development standards, and production controls.
• Manage automation portfolios, budgets, timelines, risks, dependencies, and vendor relationships.
• Work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical automation solutions.
• Lead and mentor automation developers, business analysts, solution architects, and cross-functional delivery teams.
• Partner with IT, data, cybersecurity, operations, and business teams to ensure successful enterprise integration.
• Establish CoE (Center of Excellence) practices, reusable components, automation standards, documentation, and best practices.
• Monitor automation performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement and optimization.
• Evaluate emerging technologies including agentic AI, GenAI, intelligent automation, process mining, low-code/no-code platforms, and cloud automation.
• Present automation strategy, investment cases, progress, risks, and business outcomes to senior leadership.

Preferred candidate profile

• 5 to 10 years of experience in digital transformation, automation, RPA, business process transformation, technology consulting, IT, or related fields.
• Proven experience leading enterprise automation and digital transformation initiatives from strategy through implementation.
• Strong hands-on understanding of RPA, Intelligent Automation, Workflow Automation, Process Mining, and Business Process Management.
• Experience with one or more major automation platforms such as UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, or Microsoft Power Automate.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI, and Copilot Studio, is highly desirable.
• Understanding of Generative AI, AI Agents, Agentic AI, intelligent document processing, OCR, LLMs, and AI-powered automation.
• Ability to identify automation opportunities and develop business cases, ROI models, automation roadmaps, and value-realization plans.
• Strong experience in process analysis, process reengineering, Lean Six Sigma, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
• Technical understanding of APIs, REST, SQL, Python, JavaScript, databases, cloud platforms, system integration, and enterprise applications.
• Experience integrating automation solutions with ERP, CRM, HR, finance, supply-chain, banking, or other enterprise systems.
• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, Azure OpenAI, Microsoft 365, cloud automation, DevOps, CI/CD, and cybersecurity.
• Strong understanding of automation architecture, scalability, security, governance, monitoring, and production support.
• Experience establishing or managing an Automation CoE is highly desirable.
• Strong project/program management, Agile/Scrum, stakeholder management, vendor management, and change management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor cross-functional automation and technology teams.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, presentation, and executive stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working with MNCs or large enterprise environments in Malaysia/ASEAN is an advantage.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.
• MBA/PGDM or Master's degree in Technology Management, Digital Transformation, Business Analytics, Operations, or a related discipline is an advantage.
• Certifications in UiPath, Power Platform, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, Lean Six Sigma, PMP, Agile/Scrum, AWS, or Azure are desirable.
